Commissioned by the Black Composers' Commissioning Group based in the UK, this accessible piece has flavors of gospel with a secular text.  It is a capella and may be performed as written, as in this example by Rolling Harmony (https://youtu.be/5KO3iRcF9mo), or with liberties that are indicative of the gospel style (i.e. increased ad lib in the solo, additional repeats in the last section, etc.).  SSA version also available.
